Oakwood Schools Receive Excellent with Distinction Rating on 2010-2011 State Report Card
Congratulations to the entire Oakwood community for the Oakwood City School District receiving a Certificate of Commendation and Banner for an Excellent with Distinction rating on the 2010-2011 Local Report Card by The State Board of Education. This is the twelfth year in a row the district has achieved the highest ranking.

OHS Academic Decathlon Places First in Regional and State Competitions
The Oakwood High School Academic Decathlon placed first overall across all divisions at the Ohio Academic Decathlon Regional Competition on February 11, 2012. The team took first place in the State Competition on March 9-10 and will represent Ohio in the Division I Nationals in Albuquerque, NM in April. Read more ...
OHS Academic Decathlon Team Honored at the Ohio Statehouse
The Oakwood High School Academic Decathlon was honored on April 12, 2012 at the Ohio Statehouse for placing first overall in the Ohio Academic Decathlon Regional Competition earlier this year. The team was recognized via a resolution presented by Representative jim Butler. Students on the team are Wilson Mullen, Heather Brooks, Primrose Mangilog,Cliff Goertemiller, Herbert Sizek, Colleen Noonan, Jack Bachmann, and Caleb Kell. OHS Students participate in the Memory Project
Art students at Oakwood High School have joined the Memory Project, a nationwide initiative in which art students create original portraits for children living in orphanages around the wold. The goal of the project is to inspire caring, global friendship, and a positive sense of self.
Oakwood Board of Education Receives 2012 Effective School Board Award
The Oakwood Board of Education received the 2012 award from the Ohio School Boards Association in March. This award is presented to School Boards that demonstrate a highly effective systemic approach to meeting district goals.
OHS Science Teacher Heidi Steinbrink wins Air Force Association Teacher of the Year Award
In recognition of present and past accomplishments and achievements in exciting Oakwood High School students about science and math (STEM) and preparing the students to contribute to tomorrow’s technologies, Heidi Steinbrink was awarded the Air Force Association Wright Memorial Chapter #212 Teacher of the Year Award.
